AIM & SCOPE

Journal of Emergency Cardiology (JEC) is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing clinical practice, research, education, and innovation in the diagnosis and management of acute and emergency cardiovascular conditions.

 

The journal aims to provide a multidisciplinary platform for cardiologists, emergency physicians, intensivists, internists, cardiovascular researchers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with acute cardiovascular disease.

 

JEC welcomes original research, review articles, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, clinical studies, brief reports, case reports and case series, clinical images, editorials, perspectives, correspondence, and educational articles.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to:

  • Acute coronary syndromes, myocardial infarction, and acute myocardial ischemia

  • Contemporary STEMI, NSTEMI, and occlusion myocardial infarction (OMI) concepts

  • Acute and life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias

  • Sudden cardiac arrest, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and post-resuscitation care

  • Acute heart failure and cardiogenic shock

  • Pulmonary embolism and other acute cardiovascular emergencies

  • Acute aortic syndromes

  • Hypertensive emergencies

  • Myocarditis, pericarditis, and other acute inflammatory cardiac conditions

  • Cardiovascular complications of systemic and critical illness

  • Emergency electrocardiography and cardiac monitoring

  • Point-of-care ultrasound and emergency echocardiography

  • Cardiovascular biomarkers and laboratory diagnostics

  • Interventional cardiology in emergency settings

  • Mechanical circulatory support and critical cardiovascular care

  • Cardiovascular pharmacotherapy in acute and emergency settings

  • Artificial intelligence, digital health, wearable technologies, and decision-support systems in emergency cardiology

  • Prehospital cardiovascular care and emergency medical services

  • Risk stratification, triage, clinical pathways, and organizational models of emergency cardiac care

  • Prevention, epidemiology, and outcomes of acute cardiovascular disease

  • Education, simulation, and training in emergency cardiovascular medicine

 

The journal particularly encourages clinically relevant research that can improve early diagnosis, risk stratification, therapeutic decision-making, patient safety, and outcomes in cardiovascular emergencies.

 

JEC promotes international and interdisciplinary collaboration and welcomes submissions from researchers and clinicians worldwide. The journal is committed to rigorous peer review, scientific integrity, transparency, and the dissemination of clinically meaningful evidence.

 

The ultimate goal of the Journal of Emergency Cardiology is to bridge the gap between cardiovascular science and real-world emergency care and to contribute to faster, safer, evidence-based management of patients with acute cardiovascular conditions.

At present, the journal is not yet indexed in major international bibliographic and abstracting databases.

JEC is committed to developing high editorial and scientific standards, transparent peer-review procedures, publication ethics, regular publication, and international visibility in accordance with established principles of scholarly publishing.

As the journal develops and meets the relevant eligibility criteria, applications for inclusion in appropriate international indexing and abstracting services will be considered and submitted.

The Journal of Emergency Cardiology will only list an indexing or abstracting service on this page after its inclusion has been officially confirmed.
